Monster
The knife,
Sterilized with alcohol, cut through her cakey
skin
the doctor’s face drained of his pinky color,
pale.

The newspapers raved.
Her heart, her liver, her intestines: both small and large,
her stomach, appendix, her gallbladder and more.
